We have been SNOWED IN the last few days. We are experiencing rare weather in these parts. I can't say I love the cold, in fact it usually makes me pretty miserable. But for some reason this time around it has been kind of enchanting. We have been drinking hot chocolate, sledding, playing games, reading books and yes- even doing a bit of school.
A tiny bit.
My husband has been working from home so I thought maybe we could get a little science done during his lunch break. I don't love science, especially when it comes to setting up experiments. Today we were supposed to make a rocket. Yikes!
I tried to get it started on my own. According to the directions we were to make our first rocket out of balloons, a Styrofoam cup, fishing line and two straws. I didn't get very far before I needed LOTS of help. Aaron quickly fixed everything up and made this:
The next rocket was to be made out of matches and aluminum foil. I would have NEVER done this experiment if he was not home. But since he was having so much fun he jumped on the chance to do it. After 3 failed attempts everyone went outside to play in the snow except him. He stayed in the kitchen and tried to build the rocket 4 more times. It never launched. I thought it was all said and done. Moving on, right? Wrong. I went to get Rachel later on in the day from a neighbor's house and when I came home he was in the kitchen still fiddling with matches and aluminum foil. That guy has some crazy patience! He never could get it to work, but after watching a few youtube videos I think he is going to try again tomorrow.
So what do you do when you are snowed in?

So I take it the rocket in the video is his own invention?? That sounds like Aaron!!
